The nutrition world seems to come up with opposing information nearly daily, going from one fad to another, one super food to another blah blah blah. Inside the nutrition world, people are shouting and screaming at one another, influencers outwitting each other and quite frankly, it can get pretty nasty out there.
So, well you can really be left not knowing which way to turn as well as going down nutrition rabbit holes, convinced by the convincers that their diet is the panacea for all ills. It's pretty easy to find yourself becoming neurotic about food because somebody told you it was going to give you cancer or that other one would surely lead to heart failure. The more neurotic we become about something, the worse it will be for us.
The solution to all this? Well aside from the research, which quite frankly is often so nuanced, performed on animals (and we all surely know by now that animals are NOT humans), extremely poorly designed and or sponsored by the very industries that are making us ill in the first place, well where should we turn?
Very often the answers are right in front of our very eyes and not really that complex. It can be as simple as just taking time out to listen to your body's needs and to reconnect with nature and where food actually comes from. Maybe after all, it doesn't need to be some faddy diet that restricts everything and makes you miserable, maybe it's just time for you to take some time out for yourself and treat yourself to honest, well grown wholefood that nourishes and nurtures you.
However, good health is more than just nutrition and although getting the basics right is crucial for optimal health (and that can be simple, affordable and enjoyable), we've got to get the other bits in order too which means stepping back from this crazy existence that we all seemed to have created for ourselves and reconnecting with what is important.
That's it.
